The Oregon Nurseries’ Political Action Committee reviewed and interviewed candidates in several races for the Oregon Legislature. Endorsements were based on support for core issues that matter to the nursery industry. These issues include the driver’s card, water supply development, water quality regulations, support for Oregon State University Extension and the state natural resource agencies, tax policy, and support for transportation infrastructure. ONPAC also endorsed Gov. John Kitzhaber and U.S. Rep. Kurt Schrader for their key support for nursery industry priorities. In terms of ballot measures, ONPAC recommends voting “yes” on Measure 88, the Oregon driver’s card, and “no” on Measure 92, the GMO food labelling requirement. ONPAC also endorses a “yes” vote on Clackamas County Measure 3-447, the Clackamas Community College bond measure.
