You’ll be tempted by over 300 varieties of herbaceous and woody material. Stroll along meandering paths bordered by luscious combinations. See new plants being trailed for future introductions. Be sure to bring your camera and notepad. A list of local retailers carrying Terra Nova plants will be provided and a gift of sample plants will be your reward at the conclusion of your visit. Free shuttle service from Al’s Garden Center in Woodburn.

A log house nestled at the edge of the forest is the perfect location for Mark and Val Bloom’s country garden. Tall cedar, hemlock and Douglas firs creates a natural framework in shades of green around the 2-acre planting. Hillsides of heathers, heaths and dwarf conifers, complete with babbling brook, overlook a small grassy meadow and pasture. A stone path winds through shade gardens planted with ferns, astilbes, Japanese maples, rhododendrons, azaleas, hostas and more. Sunny flowerbeds below a moss-covered stone wall are filled with roses, vines, specialty trees and perennials.

Monrovia opens its display gardens for a rare visit by the public. Designed by noted landscape architect Andy Rice, the 6-acre garden features ponds, waterfalls, plants in production and those being tested for introduction. Experts will be on hand to answer questions. Stroll the gardens on your own or accompany a Monrovia representative for a guided tour.
