About the Government Relations Team

As the voice of the Oregon nursery and greenhouse industry, the Oregon Association of Nurseries plays a lead role in shaping public policies that benefit OAN members. Through a professional staff and efforts of volunteer leaders, OAN works to protect member interests before legislators and regulators in Salem and Washington, D.C.

The OAN has a standing committee that oversees legislative matters pertaining to the nursery, greenhouse and landscape industry and employs a full-time Government Relations Director and a Communications Director.

The OAN is also involved with the Oregon Nurseries Political Action Committee (ONPAC). ONPAC has the responsibility of raising and distributing funds to assist in the election and support of legislative candidates who support issues important to industry members.

The Team

Director of Government Relations

Responsible for the association's political activities. Oversees fund-raising efforts and acts as treasurer for the Oregon Nurseries Political Action Committee (ONPAC). Keeps OAN members informed of legislative and regulatory developments affecting the nursery and greenhouse industry. Represents the industry before elected officials and government agencies.

Director of Communications

Serves as primary media and public relations contact. Responsible for overall development and direction of the association's print publications, Web content, and communications to members and the public.
