2010 Farwest Show introduces New Products Showcase

Every business owner in the nursery and greenhouse trade wants to improve their profitability and prepare for the economic recovery by discovering new ways of doing things.

The New Product Showcase at the 2010 Farwest Show – planned for Aug. 26-28 in Portland, Ore. – will make that journey of discovery quick, convenient and educational by gathering all the hottest new products, inventions and nursery equipment together in one location on the show floor.

“We want to make it easy for show guests to find the newest and best products for their business,” Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN) Executive Director John Aguirre said.

OAN, a trade association with some 1,200 members, produces the Farwest Show as well as other educational events for the nursery industry. “The New Product Showcase is one of several new additions to the show that we believe will enhance the experience for attendees. It also provides excellent visibility opportunities for exhibitors unveiling new products and services,” Aguirre said. “Not only will floor space be dedicated to the showcase, but Digger: Farwest Edition, our association publication, will devote space to showcasing the new products and services.”

A 600 square foot display will be dedicated to featuring non-plant products and services introduced to the U.S. market in 2009 or 2010. To be in the showcase, the product must improve green industry practices or promote green industry success, offer a new or unique advantage or characteristic, and be available for sale by a 2010 Farwest Show exhibitor.

“If a garden center, grower or landscaper sees something in the showcase that will improve their business, they can conveniently talk to an exhibitor about availability, price and delivery,” Aguirre said.

The New Product Showcase complements the plant-focused New Varieties Showcase display garden that features new plants available for sale in the fall of the current year or spring of next year. The plant showcase was introduced five years ago and has grown into an exciting element on the show floor. Seminars and workshops will address virtually every strategic and tactical aspect of business for garden centers, growers, and landscape professionals.
