As the voice of the Oregon nursery and greenhouse industry, the Oregon Association of Nurseries plays a lead role in shaping public policies that benefit OAN members. Through a dedicated professional staff and efforts of the association's volunteer leaders, OAN works hard to protect member interests before legislators and regulators in Salem and Washington, D.C.
The Oregon Association of Nurseries tracked several bills during the 2009 session, recommending a yes vote on some and no vote on others, and remaining neutral on the rest. These tables shows the bills on which the OAN took a stand, as well as the voting record of each legislator. One table shows the Oregon House of Representatives; the other, the Oregon Senate. Consider them a legislative report card of sorts. By comparing the OAN's recommended vote in each column with the vote of your senator or representative, you can get a picture of how well your legislator is representing the views of the nursery industry.
