Soil School provides information for small farmers, landscapers, gardeners, grounds managers and anyone else who wants to improve their soil. Attendees will learn about soil structure, texture and composition, soil testing and analysis, and how to improve your soil with cover crops. Other topics include organic weed control, irrigation, lawn conversion, stormwater management, invasive weed identification, landscaping with native plants, plants for pollinators, slugs and snails, vermiculture and composting and organic matter. Soil School will take place from 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m. at the PCC Rock Creek Event Center (17705 N.W. Springville Road, Portland).
