OAN Signs onto "Plant Something™" campaign
Momentum is building across the country—and into Canada—for the industry to get behind the "Plant Something™" promotion developed by Arizona Nursery Association with the support of USDA Special Crop Grants. Oregon joins nursery associations in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, Washington and British Columbia as a licensee of the program. "This campaign to build awareness about the benefits of plants will hopefully encourage new people to start gardening and grow our industry," said Jerry Simnitt, OAN president. OAN members will have the right to use the Plant Something™ logo, theme, material artwork, video and commercial. The initial focus is at the retail level, but future plans include use by wholesale growers. OAN will convene a Plant Something advisory group to develop Oregon-focused tools helping members maximize the opportunities the Plant Something message offers. If you have an interest in guiding the direction Oregon takes, please contact Ann Murphy, Director of Marketing, at 503-682-5011 or email email@example.com.
