Support Letter for House Bill 3058-A – June 7, 2011
The undersigned Oregon agricultural organizations ask for your "aye" vote on HB 3058–A. HB 3058–A would correct one of the unintended consequences of Measure 67, the application of the corporate gross receipts tax on farmer cooperative businesses. A key cooperative principle is operating at cost with the proceeds generated by the co–op passing through to the owners of the cooperative, its members.  [Read more]

The OAN urges your support of HB 3613. In 1993 the Oregon Legislature passed the Agricultural Water Quality Management Act, also known as Senate Bill 1010. OSU Statewides Budget Letters – April 7, 2011
The Oregon Cooperative Extension Service, Agricultural Experiment Station, and Forest Research Laboratory—the Statewide Public Service Programs—are critical resources that support the wellbeing of all Oregonians. They are currently at risk due to the proposed, dramatic cuts in the Governor's Recommended Budget. These cuts of $20 million (19%) are disproportionate in comparison to general higher education system proposed cuts of 8%. The cuts are particularly unfair, considering that the Statewide Public Service Programs cannot raise tuition to help offset cuts like rest of Higher Education.
