OAN forms working group to discuss transportation issues.
President Lee Powell recently appointed President-elect Pete Brentano of Brentano’s Tree Farm to lead a small task force of OAN growers to review the findings and recommendations of a recent study of transportation issues affecting growers. The OAN funded a study to identify strategies the association may pursue to assist its grower members in accessing cost-effective transportation options and to make more certain that receivers will get Oregon plant material on time and when most needed. The Transportation Working Group will develop and submit recommendations, proposing a specific set of actions to the OAN Board of Directors at the June meeting of the board. President Powell has indicated his commitment to finding ways the OAN can deliver improvements in the transportation environment to benefit growers and their customers.
