ODA to host seminar on agricultural exporting

Food and agriculture businesses have an opportunity to learn from industry experts about the value of exporting next month by participating in a one-day seminar in Portland hosted by the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA). The seminar, "Explore Exporting: The World is Waiting," is scheduled for Monday, May 14 from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The $25 per person registration fee, due May 8, 2012, includes lunch.

Seminar topics include the importance of exports to the local and regional economy, an analysis of food consumption trends around the world, and candid information from local companies with export experience. Attendees will also learn about assistance from state and federal government agencies designed to help Oregon companies tap into foreign markets.

The export seminar in Portland is part of a series of events coordinated by Business Oregon taking place during World Trade Week, May 14-18. A full listing of activities can be found at . For more information on the export seminar, contact Patrick Mayer or Amanda Welker, ODA, at (503) 872-6600 or Amanda Hughart, WUSATA, at (360) 693-3373. Register online here.
