Record-low precipitation levels reported across Oregon
Statewide, the mountain snowpack is only 32 percent of normal for this time of year, according to a report recently published by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Precipitation levels across Oregon are well below average, with only a few sites in the northeast part of the state having seen near normal amounts so far this year.
"While water supply conditions still have time to improve, the farther into the year we go maintaining these dry conditions, the harder it will be for the water supply to catch back up to normal," said Julie Koeberle, a hydrologist with the NRCS.
