Plant Something vehicle wrap artwork now available
Plant Something now offers a new way to increase your business and spread the word about how growing plants helps enrich the lives of gardeners. Plant Something is partnering with Exhibit Experts to offer vehicle wraps; four themes are available to choose from, from "Play Dirty" to "Chill Out."
You decide which design(s) you like, which vehicles they will go on, and how much coverage you want based on your budget. Your company information and logo can be incorporated into the design. If you have an installer that you prefer, you can purchase the graphics through Exhibit Experts and continue to use your preferred vendor for installation, or they can recommend 3M certified installation professionals. Access to this exclusive Plant Something artwork is included as part of your OAN membership.

Cutworms, slugs and snails! Oh my!
Now is a good time to protect young plants from damage by cutworms, slugs and snails, according to pest alerts dispatched this week by Oregon State University Extension. Cutworm caterpillars are active at night, even in cool temperatures, and can often be found during the day curled up under debris or under the top layer of soil. Unchecked, they will tunnel into the swollen buds to dine on the rich resources there.

Safety Tip: Store hazardous chemicals properly
Storage of hazardous chemicals — including pesticides and herbicides — isn't just a matter of Oregon law. It's also a matter of safety for yourself, your workers and the environment. This leaflet (PDF) provides tips to keep you legal as well as safe. A key tip is to designate a storage area that is not likely to flood or expose the chemicals to water. It also should be situated 100 feet away from surface water and downslope from wells and other sensitive areas (such as feed storage areas). For more, read the leaflet. This information is presented to you courtesy of SAIF, Oregon OSHA and the OAN Safety and Insurance Committee.
