Affordable Care Act Road Show rolls out today
The Affordable Care Act Road Show makes its first stop today, June 4, at Fisher Farms in Gaston, Oregon. Over the following three weeks, this series of members-only meetings will feature a panel of experts in health insurance and employment law. All meetings are the same; members may attend the location and date most convenient for them.
Each meeting will last from 1–4 p.m. The first hour will focus on employers with less than 50 employees. The second hour will focus on those with 50 employees if seasonal workers are included. The third hour will be geared towards those with 100 employees or more.
Panelists will include Jeff Stone of OAN, Heidi Mason of Jordan Ramis PC, Randy Skinner of Leonard Adams Insurance, Marisa O'Brien of Cover Oregon and Michelle Van Dellen of Moss Adams LLP.

Kate Brown to visit OAN Government Relations Committee
Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown will be the guest speaker at next week's meeting of the OAN Government Relations Committee. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. next Tuesday, June 10, in the conference room at OAN, 29751 SW Town Center Loop West, Wilsonville. All members are invited to attend and participate in this discussion of issues affecting the green industry.
In addition to the hour-long discussion with Brown, the committee will hear a presentation on the recent lobbying trip to Washington, D.C., updates on state and federal issues, and a discussion on the upcoming driver's card ballot measure.

Save the date: June 24 — IPPS Nursery Tours
The Oregon-area meeting of the International Plant Propagators' Society (IPPS) will take place from 8 a.m.–1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24. The day includes a tour of four nurseries in the Hillsboro area: Farmington Gardens, Eshraghi Nursery, Blooming Nursery and Gold-Hill Nursery. Cost is $55 with lunch provided. Register by June 16.

Rooted in Food Garden Tour happening this weekend
The "Garden City" of Silverton, Oregon, will host the first annual Rooted in Food Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, June 7. The tour offers glimpses into eight local gardens. In Memoriam: Joshua Shepherd
The OAN is saddened to report the death of Joshua Shepherd of Kraemer's Nursery. He died at the age of 33 in an auto accident on Sunday, May 18.
Joshua is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Wagner) Shepherd; son, Liam; daughter, Penelope; parents, Jim and Eila Shepherd; sister, Janine Simms, and her children, Shayla and Blake.
A private service was held on May 31. A memorial service will be held in Silverton, Oregon, at a date to be determined.
