Kitzhaber promises backing for driver's card bill

Gov. John Kitzhaber met with members of the OAN Government Relations Committee on Tuesday in Salem. It was a productive discussion that covered several issues, including water supply and quality, the pollinator issue, the driver's card bill, and the overall economy.

"Your industry is a really important part of that."

That incident lasted 11 days and resulted in state and federal disaster declarations.

This is not to say the recent storms did not affect growers. On the contrary; most reported that they had to work very hard to prevent worse damage from the snow and ice.
