Key OAN leaders including President Mike Hiller and Government Relations Committee Chair Leigh Geschwill will travel to Washington, D.C. next week to meet with all of Oregon’s congressional delegation, as well as USDA leaders. OAN Executive Director Jeff Stone will accompany them on the trip.

The group will meet with USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) officials to discuss pest and disease program funding, and with senior policy advisers to USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue to discuss international trade, trucking regulations and the recent escalation of tariffs with China.

The group also will meet with members of the House Judiciary Committee to discuss immigration. Separately, they will meet with immigration reform advocate Ali Noorani.

Other meetings include the Senate Finance Committee, the Senate Agricultural Appropriations Committee, and senior policy advisers to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which is chaired by U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Oregon).

Members with input on any of these matters are urged to contact Jeff Stone at jstone@oan.org.
