When it comes to defending Oregon’s nursery industry, the voices that make the strongest impression are the growers themselves.
An OAN Advocacy Training will take place from noon–4 p.m. Monday, January 27 at the OAN office, Dick Joyce Conference Room, 29751 S.W. Town Center Loop West, Wilsonville. There, members will learn the inside tips and unwritten rules to become clear, effective lobbyists and citizen activists for the nursery industry.
Members of the OAN Government Relations team — including Executive Director Jeff Stone; attorney Steve Shropshire of Jordan Ramis P.C.; and lobbyists Elizabeth Remley, Dan Bates and Miles Pengilly of Thorn Run Partners — will train members in how to make a strong, compelling, sympathetic and effective case for nursery-friendly policies and programs.
Past participants in this training say it takes the fear and mystery out of giving written or verbal testimony before legislators and committees. All members are encouraged to participate, not just those who have been active in the Government Relations Committee.
