ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all aspects of bidding, locating, purchasing, and shipping nursery stock to Teufel Landscape projects.
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Travel to west coast nurseries as needed to select and secure trees and shrubs.
  • Enter and analyze pricing and inventory data
  • Utilize the Teufel inventory system
  • Have a good working knowledge of northwest trees, shrubs, and groundcover.
  • Be familiar with container size, grading specifications, and quality of nursery stock.
  • Able to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
  • Able to walk and climb over rough terrain in various nursery and farm locations
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Nursery Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent working knowledge of Northwest nursery trees, shrubs, and groundcover.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Skilled at Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to manage and adapt to changes in orders and project deadlines.

IRRIGATION TECH6/13/19

Walla Walla Nursery in Washington is seeking an Irrigation Tech to improve and maintain nursery irrigation systems in good working condition throughout the nursery property. Also assists grounds crew with landscaping when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains irrigation systems from stream to nozzle including basic maintenance and winterization of pumps, filters, pump houses, valves, ponds, ditches, nozzles, ozone, etc.
  • Installs irrigation systems in construction of new growing spaces; designs and installs new or improved landscape irrigation systems
  • Schedules and prioritizes irrigation maintenance work for completion using available windows of opportunity and labor availability, especially September – February

Requirements:

  • 2 years irrigation experience preferred
