The training will include presenters from Oregon State University and the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Funding for the training comes from a specialty crop block grant via the ODA. Materials are being created for through OAN's our partnership with SAIF Corporation.

The new rules are mandated by the federal government but must be implemented by each state in the manner it chooses. The rulemaking process has been ongoing, with updates presented in Member Update and at last year’s OAN Convention. Oregon OSHA twice extended the comment period, but comments closed on March 15. The rulemaking has not yet been finalized.

WPS Compliance Assistance Library

The 2015 revised Worker Protection Standard (WPS) is complex. PERC broke it up into bite-sized chunks and sorted user types to tailor the learning experience for workers, handlers, employers, and more.

Just for You:

PERC's WPS Compliance Assistance Library (WPS CAL) is web-based guideto help people on farms, orchards, forests, and other agricultural establishments comply with the WPS. The material and content has been reviewed by federal regulators, farmworker advocacy organizations, university experts, and state agriculture officials. However, users are cautioned not to rely on any one resource for compliance information. Please refer to the official "How-to-Comply" Manual and the  regulation, then contact your state regulatory agency with questions regarding compliance with the WPS.

If you have any questions about navigating the WPS-Compliance Assistance Library, please direct them to PERC at PERCsupport@ucdavis.edu.
